MASTER DRAWINGS NEW YORK
2025

We are thrilled to be making our debut at Master Drawings New York this year!

MDNY opens on the 31st January and finishes on the 8th February (inclusive). The event will see some of the most prestigious galleries from across Europe and the U.S. showing works on paper from across the centuries throughout the Upper East Side. Alongside our exhibitions, there are numerous events being held in coordination with both dealers and museums, with further information available here

Our exhibition is taking place at L'Antiquaire & the Connoisseur, at 36 East 73rd in the Upper East Side of Manhattan, on the corner of Madison Avenue. We are showing on the gallery's top floor, accessible by elevator and stairs. The building itself is a treasure-trove of art and antiques, owned by the celebrated antiques dealer Helen Fioratti, and we are delighted to be exhibiting in such esteemed company.

I would like to thank the following for their generous assistance in preparing this catalogue and for our debut at MDNY, a major step forward in the gallery's 'history', as it is our first international foray:

Dr Larissa Mohr, Dr Martin Royalton-Kisch, Dr Andrei Bliznukov, Dr Jonathan Yarker, Prof. Louisa Wood Ruby, Prof. Bernard Aikema, Stephane Rouvet, Nick Williams, Sebastien Paraskevas, Stephen Ongpin, Guy Peppiatt, Sarah O'Donoghue, Gino Franchi, Dr Rebecca Marks, Amy Glover, and the Rev. Canon Tom Mendel. Thanks must also go to Chris Bishop and Cydney Williams, for their invaluable help in finding a location for the event, and for their invitation. We are also grateful to Helen Fioratti & Anna Kohler for inviting us into their magnificent space and for their hospitality.

For Master Drawings New York 2025, we are joined by Dr Rebecca Marks, who will be assisting us throughout the exhibition. Rebecca has recently completed her PhD at the University of Cambridge, where her thesis title was ' William Blake and Michelangelo: Influence, Adaptation, and 'The Florentine Original''. Rebecca's work has previously been published in Eighteenth Century Studies, Romanticism and Cambridge Quarterly, and prior to this she read History of Art at the University of Oxford and the Courtauld Institute.
